CALGARY: The curling bubble located in Calgary has been up and running since February and will remain until early May. The ongoing safety effort aims to keep players, officials and production teams safe throughout The World Men’s Curling Championship, taking place April 2-11, and the Women’s Curling Championship, held April 30 to May 9.
EDMONTON: Board game convention GOBfest took place this past weekend as a virtual event for the first time in eight years. Dubbed GOBweb, the online-only edition was held using the virtual platform Discord and featured game services such as Tabletopia, Tabletop Simulator and Board Game Arena.
Geoscapes Dining Series is running through April 8. Taking place in Edmonton’s River Valley on the Victoria Golf Course, guests will enjoy a weekly selection of multicourse meals, curated by local chefs and served inside one of 15 heated luxury geodomes. Diners have a choice of meat, vegetarian and gluten-free options, with upgrades including a charcuterie, dessert, drink pairings and a VIP staycation package at Matrix Hotel, which is a partner of the event.
VANCOUVER: More than a dozen “dance bubbles” have been placed across downtown Vancouver as part of the #LoveVancouver movement, an effort to bring joy to the city during a dark time. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5-9 p.m., each bubble will be filled with dance performers and light projections that residents can enjoy from a safe distance.
Richmond’s Watermania reopened on March 15 as part of the city’s official reopening plan. Located in the Riverport Sports and Entertainment Complex, guests can now book 75-minute time slots between 1:15 and 5:45 p.m. daily.
