MONTREAL—The 14th edition of C2 Montreal took place May 20-22 at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montreal, attracting over 3,000 participants from across the globe. The three-day business event was structured around an overarching theme, "Motion: The Art of Taking Action," which was brought to life through three core sub-themes driving Quebec’s economy: Experiential, Sustainability, and Transformative Technologies.
“What stood out most was the energy in the room, the connections that were made, the ideas that took root, and the action that’s already unfolding," said C2 CEO Anick Beaulieu. "C2 Montreal once again proved that when creativity and commerce meet, real change becomes possible.”
Attendees curated their schedule via the dedicated app, selecting sessions relevant to their current business challenges while exploring innovative solutions for the future. Content highlights included Micheal Ventura’s session on "The Power of Empathy"; a live workshop delivered by Beth Goldberg and Spencer Baim from Jigsaw (a Google incubator) titled ‘’Listening at Scale: AI, Community, and the Future of Dialogue"; and journalist and Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz’s inspiring session on ethics in business where he asked participants to think about the complexed question, "How far would you go to do what’s right?’"
Braindate returned this year, offering attendees a refreshing opportunity to collide with like-minded people. Through the C2 app, participants could book one-on-one meetings or select a seat at a table for a discussion covering a certain topic from intrapreneurship to the buzzword on everyone’s mind: AI.
This year’s installations, a hallmark of C2, included a creativity carousel, which housed live musicians throughout the event, and a dreamscape zone featuring IKEA furniture used in unconventional ways. Beyond the conference day tracks, surprise experiences took place between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day, including performances from Cirque Du Soleil, local musicians, and live painting by local artists.
