Along with high-end shopping at stores like Bulgari, Cartier, and Christian Dior, CityCenter's new retail complex, Crystals, includes several spaces for events and entertaining. Crystals officially opened December 3, making it the second destination to open at CityCenter (after Vdara Hotel & Spa); some spaces within are already open, and others will open in the coming weeks.
Studio Daniel Libeskind is behind Crystals' dramatic angular architecture, and David Rockwell and Rockwell Group imagined the inside space, which includes hanging gardens and a colorful flower carpet.
For entertaining and events, Eva Longoria Parker brings a version of her Hollywood restaurant, Beso, where chef Todd English interprets Latin flavors. Along with the restaurant is also a nightclub from Longoria Parker, known as Eve. The 8,000-square-foot space includes black and gold decor, with luxe V.I.P. booths, floor-to-ceiling mirrored windows, and a 50-foot-tall arched ceiling. Massive video screens surround the dance floor. The restaurant and nightclub each hold 500 and are available for buyout.
The seafood and steak chain, Mastro's Restaurants, will also make its Las Vegas debut with the opening of Ocean Club at Crystals, planned for February. The space will serve Mastro's classics as well as specialty dry-ice martinis, two-foot-tall seafood towers, and warm butter cake. A piano lounge will offer live music and dining. The space will be available for buyout with a capacity in the 300 range, and there are also three private rooms.
Wolfgang Puck will open his first French restaurant in 30 years, Brasserie Puck. Puck and chef Lee Hefter, managing partner and executive corporate chef of the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, created the modern brasserie menu. Right for roving conventioneers who want a light bite, the Pods by Wolfgang Puck is located beneath the brasserie. It's a full-service coffee bar, café, and bar. The Pods offers light American fare that can be taken to go or eaten at the restaurant, all day long. Breakfast and lunch items include sweet and savory pastries, soups, salads, and sandwiches. The Pods is centrally located on the Crystals staircase, providing sweeping views of the area. The Puck spaces are under construction and slated to be open by late December or early January, when capacities will officially be locked down.
