The South Florida and Caribbean chapter of the International Special Events Society held its annual officer installation dinner last night at the W Fort Lauderdale. Approximately 75 members attended the cocktail reception and dinner. In addition to installing the chapterβs new officers and board of directors, the event included a special raffle to raise money for the Ira Mitchell-Steiman Quality of Life Fund, a local charity created to finance the namesake ISES memberβs fight against cancer.
βIraβs been an active member and we feel that heβs part of the family, and youβve got to help family, so we wanted to make that a spotlight [of the event],β said ISES president Aimee Zadak.
Following the cocktail reception, Joseph Van Eron, one of the chapter's founding members, installed the 13 board members, many of whom are regulars on the ISES board:
